About the Program
A heartfelt tribute, displayed on every lamp post in town.
The Hometown Heroes Banner Program gives families, friends, and neighbors a way to publicly honor local service members. Each banner features the hero's photo, name, branch of service, and years served — a lasting tribute hung along the streets of Orwigsburg for the entire community to see.
Eligibility
Past or present members of any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with a connection to Orwigsburg or surrounding community.
Banner Specs
24" × 48" double-sided heavy-duty vinyl. Includes photo, name, rank/branch, years of service.
Display Season
Banners are installed before Memorial Day and remain up through Veterans Day each year.
Kept Forever
After the season, the banner is returned to the sponsor as a keepsake.

How It Works

Complete Application
Fill out the online form with sponsor and hero details — name, branch, service dates, and a short bio.

Upload a Photo
Submit a clear photo of your hero — ideally in uniform. We'll review for print quality.

Secure Payment
Complete the sponsorship — $120 to renew an existing banner or $185 for a new banner (includes hanging hardware).

Banner Displayed
Your banner is printed, installed on a lamp post in Orwigsburg, and returned to you after the season.

Who is eligible to be honored? +
Any past or present member of the U.S. Armed Forces — Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or Reserves / National Guard — with a connection to Orwigsburg.
How much does it cost? +
Two tiers: $120 to renew an existing banner (we already have the photo on file) or $185 for a brand-new banner, which includes hanging hardware.
When are banners displayed? +
Banners are installed before Memorial Day and remain up through Veterans Day each year.
What kind of photo should I submit? +
High-resolution photos work best — ideally in uniform. JPEG or PNG, at least 3,000 × 3,000 pixels. Vintage photos are welcome; we'll do our best to clean them up.
